Overview:
Migrant & Refugee Communities Forum (MRCF) is a user-led, community forum working to promote the rights of migrants and refugees in London. We are a registered charity with membership consisting of over 40 migrant and refugee organisations.
Our work addresses all aspects of the social exclusion of migrants and refugees with the aim of meaningful integration. We provide advice and support to individuals and community organisations, produce research and work in partnership to influence policy and facilitate better understanding and inclusion.
Opportunities:
Mentor: support migrants, refugees and asylum seekers who are isolated or have mental ill health to achieve their full potential. By mentoring you will be:
- providing a supportive, open, and non-judgmental relationship
- helping refugees and asylum seekers become more confident
- supporting them with social and practical needs (access to education or volunteering opportunities, interpreting support)
- providing assistance to access mainstream community activities
- increasing social connection and reducing social isolation
