Schools Plus supports children to achieve their academic potential by matching them with university student tutors. Schools Plus provides training and support to develop university students' skills, their effectiveness as tutors and their understanding of educational disadvantage. It enables students at university to have a positive impact in their local schools. The Schools Plus projects are student run, with student coordinators. Please see the Schools Plus website to see how you can become a schools plus tutor.
Southampton Hub work together with societies at the University of Southampton to connect students and promote ethical groups who share the same values. We are looking for researchers to work on real-life projects, evaluating the work of youth charities and helping them to understand their impact on society. Ideally you will be doing a degree with a research component, so that your work with Project Oracle can be incorporated into your studies. If you would like to find out more, please register your interest and choose 'Project Oracle' from the drop-down menu once you have inputted your University. You will then be sent an email with further details. Questions? Please email alice.thornton@studenthubs.org, we'll be happy to help.
The Student Hubs Ethical Internships Scheme offers all this, and more. We match students who want to make a positive social or environmental impact with ethical organisations who make this possible. Internships take place during the summer break and this is your chance to make a difference whilst gaining work experience, an insight into the not-for-profit sector, new contacts and new skills. To find out more about the scheme and for deadlines please visit the main Ethical Internships site. |
