The days are getting shorter and the air is getting crisper, that can only mean one thing – the start of term is upon us! We are embracing change this autumn and two out of five of our Hubs are already back at it, celebrating Welcome Week (albeit a little differently to usual).
Alumni Ambassadors
When one door closes another opens. Although the Graduate Impact Survey closes today, we have launched recruitment for our Alumni Ambassadors. If you are interested in continuing to engage with our community, developing new and existing skills and working closely alongside the Student Hubs Engagement team – this opportunity is for you!
The brand new voluntary role is a chance for you to shape our alumni offering, raise awareness of our work and continue supporting our student and staff teams. You can read more and apply here, we look forward to hearing from you.
Welcome Week
Mid-September saw the start of term for both Kingston and Winchester Hub. Whilst Welcome Week may not look the same as previous years, the teams have still been out and about (on campus and virtually), smashing it and spreading the word about the Hub.
Kingston Hub have been doing shoutouts in virtual lectures and sharing information about this year’s projects on their socials. In addition, they have facilitating a series of discussions to inspire and engage students in the challenges faced by their community: inequality in education, mental health and social isolation.
Meanwhile, Winchester Hub donned the appropriate PPE and got out and about on campus to meet interested students alongside the Careers and Opportunities team. Both Sorcha and Liz enjoyed getting the opportunity to chat to students face to face, and absolutely rocked their visors – see picture proof below!
Impact, Impact, Impact
We really appreciate the amazing response our alumni community had to the Graduate Impact Survey. The survey closes today and we are already on a whopping 121 responses. We are so excited to read your answers, collate your journeys, and of course announce the winner of the draw!
Whilst you wait to hear more about the impact we have achieved with our alumni, why not read about the impact we achieved with our student leaders and communities in 2019/20. Bristol Hub, Cambridge Hub and Winchester Hub have all released their annual impact reports and they make for a heartwarming read.
In the Spotlight
They have provided smiles, laughter and joy throughout the summer, keeping us company and appearing as ‘special guests’ during meetings. This month we want to put Student Hubs’ pet team in the spotlight.
