In 2023 we worked with our partners at University College Birmingham to develop their community engagement activities and strategy through a One Community Forum.
The One Community Forum will bring together key stakeholders at the University, students and local community members to explore what student social action could look like in the local area. The aim? To support students and communities to engage with the institution’s knowledge exchange objectives.
Across the 12 week Project our Project Officer Mahwish Schwitters and Intern Chandan Varier are working alongside partners at both Student Hubs and University College Birmingham. The team are focusing on connecting with influential individuals in the local community, learning more about the institution and hearing directly from students themselves. As well as running the One Community Forum they are creating a recommendations report outlining everything they’ve learned.
The project is still live and Mahwish would love to hear from Birmingham based organisations. If you have thoughts on how University College Birmingham students can share knowledge and support your local activities please reach out at fiona.walsh@studenthubs.org.
