Summer time has well and truly started. For us at Student Hubs this means things getting quieter with our delivery. But that doesn’t mean we’re slowing down – the team are busy collating impact data, reflecting on the year gone by and making improvements and plans for 2023/24.
Team Time
As we wrap up our work for the 22/23 academic year, our staff team got together for the final Team Time of the year in Kingston this month. As part of our final team time, we got to take part in some reflection activities evaluating our year and discussing the challenges. Our staff team finished the day with our staff awards where we created an award for each other.
Cambridge Hub Clothes Swap Fundraiser
Cambridge’s Girton Green Society organised a clothes swap fundraiser for Cambridge Hub. The swap allowed students to give new life to their formal wear ahead of Girton Spring Ball. The clothes swap allowed students to swap any items they no longer want or donate any pre-loved items for sale to raise money for Cambridge Hub.
In the Spotlight
This month, I would like to put our new starter Mahwish Schwitters in the spotlight. Mahwish is joining us as the Birmingham Project Officer to deliver a One Community Forum and produce a research and recommendations report. She’ll be with the team until September 2023. We also have another new starter Chandan Varier, who is joining us as the Birmingham Intern. Chandan will be working with us for 6 weeks and will be supporting Mahwish with the development and delivery of the One Community Forum in Birmingham.
