Join Student Hubs’ Campaigning and Advocacy series this autumn to meet likeminded peers, skill up on all things campaigning and get a certificate demonstrating your commitment to learning and making change.
With Student Hubs closing our doors in January 2025 this is the last cohort of this training we will be facilitating, so don’t miss out on your chance to get involved.
What can I expect?
Student Hubs’ Campaigning and Advocacy series is a training programme for students. The interactive five part series will cover building a campaign, effective communications and resilience, equipping you to make change and advocate confidently and conscientiously.
The virtual sessions this autumn are:
- Introduction to Campaigns and Advocacy, 6 November 2-3:30pm
- Building your Campaign, 13 November 2-3:30pm
- Communications in Campaigning, 20 November 2-3:30pm
- Confidence, Resilience and Wellbeing, 27 November, 2-3:30pm
- Reflection and Wrap up, 4 December, 2-2:45pm
It has improved my confidence in campaigning, which I have wanted to get involved in but previously was unsure where to start – it has provided key steps, techniques, advice and has shown all the things that must be considered, which aren’t always obvious. Universities should encourage their students to be vocal and centrefold in leading change and standing up for what they believe in in an effective way, which also produces so many skills and links for their students.

Who is it for?
The series is aimed at students, officers and early career individuals who want to understand and implement tools and techniques which support effective campaigning and advocacy.
Whether you are an individual interested in the series, a Students’ Union wanting to skill up your elected team or a university facilitating development opportunities for student leaders reach out today to find out more at sophie.payne@studenthubs.org.
How can I get involved?
Last autumn 100% of attendees shared they would recommend the series to a friend. Don’t miss your chance to secure a spot, either for yourself or for students and officers you work with. At just £25 per person the series is a great way to skill up and take the next step in your journey as a changemaker.
Any students can self-fund on this programme, but we would recommend making a request of your Students’ Union and central university team first. If you would like to join but are unable to get funding, reach out to discuss using our student access fund to secure your space for free.
To register your interest and find out more contact our facilitator Sophie Payne at sophie.payne@studenthubs.org before 20 October. Universities can request to pay via invoice.
