Each year we deliver a range of training for students, university staff and early career staff across the third sector. This includes sessions in areas such as leadership, volunteer management, innovation, accessible communications, unconscious bias, and skills training.
The content on making training memorable and mixing sessions was very useful. The opportunities to present also made me really confident in my style and delivery and by the end I felt like I could deliver training straight away.

This series has been valuable as it’s helped improve my confidence and understanding of campaigns. I definitely think this [training series] should keep being sponsored [by my university] because it teaches real life skills that we will come across often – even seeing campaigners in the street, or current strikes from lecturers or the trains – and it helps me understand from the perspective of the strikers even more so than before. It’s about equally valuable to learn these life skills as it is to learn the course content taught on my degree.

campaigns & advocacy
We designed this series to support and empower students and incoming staff or officers who are passionate about tackling social issues and want to build up the skills to make change. The series has 5 weekly virtual sessions covering the essential planning and project management skills for building a campaign, the tools needed to communicate effectively, and how to manage confidence and resilience.
